Solarvalue AG: New UDS furnace produces first ingot

Berlin, 09.02.2011: As already announced in November 2010, recently the
first polycrystalline ingots have been produced on the custom-built furnace
for unidirectional solidification (UDS). They will soon be shipped to
potential customers. Given sufficient quality, the ingots then will be
sliced into wafers and processed to solar cells. All activities are to
provide evidence of the furnace and the input material that is processed to
ingots. Depending on the results achieved, the ongoing dialogue with
potential investors and strategic partners will be intensified.

Dr. Christian Bornhauser, Board member of Solarvalue AG: 'We have produced
the first ingots on our new furnace. These ingots soon will be delivered to
selected partners that will perform intensive testing. The test results
will be analyzed and, when indicated, transformed to optimization measures.
When all tests are successful, the ingots will be processed to cells to
verify cell efficiency. Parallel we will continue to perform all other work
that is substantial to prove that our process is qualified to produce solar
grade silicon for the photovoltaic industry on an industrial scale. The
goal of all operational activities remains unchanged: to attract investors
to build up a profitable production by using our process. To this we are
already in discussions. We are still confident of finding partners to build
up the projected industrial scale production process.'
