Baytex Announces Proposed Offering of Debentures

("Baytex") (TSX:BTE)(NYSE:BTE) announced today that it is proposing to offer up to US$150 million principal amount of 10-year senior unsecured debentures (the "Debentures"). The Debentures are being offered on a private placement basis in Canada through a syndicate comprised of RBC Capital Markets and Credit Suisse Securities as joint book runners. Baytex intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to repay existing indebtedness under its revolving credit facilities and for general corporate purposes.
