Sage Healthcare Division and Larry King Cardiac Foundation Raise Awareness of Heart Disease During National Heart Health Month

Fundraising Efforts Will Continue in Orlando at HIMSS 2011 Tradeshow; Sage to Also Demo Prototype HIE

TAMPA, FL--(Marketwire - February 18, 2011) - Sage Healthcare Division, a unit of Sage North America, announced today that it will bring its fundraising efforts for the Larry King Cardiac Foundation to the HIMSS 2011 tradeshow February 21 through 23 in Orlando.

Sage continues its fundraising efforts for the Larry King Cardiac Foundation with a public month-long fundraising event to support the Foundation's mission, which is to "save a heart a day" by providing life saving cardiac procedures to individuals who, because of limited means or no insurance coverage, are otherwise unable to receive treatment.

HIMSS attendees can visit Sage's booth (#1713) and sign the Red by Sage Wall of Inspiration to show support of those affected by heart disease. Additionally, any member of the public, regardless of whether they are attending the HIMSS show, can help support the Foundation by signing Sage's virtual wall of inspiration on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/SageHealthcare.

For each signature or story of support, Sage will donate $5 -- up to $10,000 -- to the nonprofit Larry King Cardiac Foundation. During the event, Sage also is providing attendees a chance to win a weekend get-away for two to the exclusive 2011 Evening with Larry King and Friends Gala in Washington, D.C., on April 2.

Sage began the month-long effort in support of the Larry King Cardiac Foundation as part of National Heart Health Month as a reflection of Sage's specialized focus on serving cardiology practices with electronic health records and practice management software solutions. Sage Healthcare Division, based in Tampa, provides electronic health records and practice management systems to more than 400,000 healthcare professionals including approximately 80,000 physicians in ambulatory care practices in the U.S., with a focus toward cardiologists. Sage systems enable physicians and practice managers to better manage their practices and improve patient care.

"At Sage, we're dedicated to serving physicians and practitioners by offering solutions to help improve efficiencies and outcomes, as well as improving patient outcomes, and especially to bettering patient's lives," said Betty Otter-Nickerson, president of Sage Healthcare Division. "One of the ways we can do that is to support fine organizations like the Larry King Cardiac Foundation to help save a life a day and raise awareness for those affected by heart disease. Working with the Foundation is another way Sage can make a positive impact and help increase awareness of heart health."

President of the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, Larry King, Jr., will be in the Sage booth during HIMSS to discuss the Foundation and its work. The Larry King Cardiac Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by famous newsman Larry King. It is affiliated with seven premier Cardiac Centers including Children's National Medical Center -- a Sage client -- and George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, New York Presbyterian: The University Hospital of Columbia and Weill Cornell University Medical Center in New York, NY, St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, and The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. The Foundation also works in conjunction with Venice Family Clinic in Venice, California. The Larry King Cardiac Foundation has embraced an ambitious goal to "Save a Heart a Day."

In addition to supporting the Larry King Cardiac Foundation at HIMSS, Sage Healthcare Division will showcase the Sage Intergy EHR, a certified meaningful use software solution that empowers physicians to advance the quality and efficiency of care they deliver. The Sage Intergy family of products includes integrated practice management, electronic health records, clinical and business intelligence and a Web-based portal for online patient engagement. Providers can access Sage Intergy EHR from multiple practice locations, from home or other remote locations either through a central patient database server, or as a Sage-hosted solution on a monthly subscription basis.

Sage Intergy EHR easily tracks the details of a patient's clinical history, shares and manages clinical information and combines complex medical practice functions into easy-to-navigate menus. Sage Intergy features centralized financial operations including billing, reporting, task management, and fully integrates with EDI services, Sage Intergy Practice Portal, Sage Intergy RIS and Sage Practice Analytics.

Sage Healthcare Division also will demonstrate a prototype of its health information exchange (HIE) that will be built into future versions of Sage Intergy.
