Shaw's Amazing Family Reunion Brings Together Those Who Helped a Family in Need (Wickham)

WICKHAM, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 21, 2011) - Jean-Pierre Otis of Wickham will get the chance to bring his family together for an unforgettable family reunion, thanks to Shaw's Amazing Family Reunion Contest.

The contest launched online at www.togetherisamazing.com on November 29, inviting Canadians to create a virtual scrapbook page sharing their story of why they wanted to reunite their family. More than 5,000 Canadians created family scrapbooks and shared their incredible stories. Ten deserving families were chosen by a panel of judges and will have the opportunity to create their dream family reunion valued up to $25,000.

Jean Pierre and his wife Nicole, both from the Drummondville area, met more than 30 years ago and within three weeks of courting, he asked her to marry him. Thirty years later, they have a family that includes four sons. In addition to their immediate family, the Otis' had a dream to help disadvantaged kids. So in the early 2000s, they set out to renovate their home to build more space to house children in need. Soon after, Jean-Pierre suffered a stroke and heart attack, and their goal of finishing the home was interrupted.

"At this point in time our children took things in hand by joining parents and friends so that the work could continue and we could keep our home," said Jean-Pierre Otis, one of Shaw's Amazing Family Reunion winners. "To have an occasion to get together with everyone who has contributed to helping us and thank them from the bottom of our hearts would mean so much to us."

Thanks to the help of their children, friends and family, the Otis' were able to complete the renovation and help others. Shaw's Amazing Family Reunion will help bring everyone together who helped the Otis family through their rough time.
