Family Reunion Brings Together a Family United by Love (Edmonton)

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 21, 2011) - The Pidruchney family of Edmonton will be united together, thanks to Shaw's Amazing Family Reunion Contest.

The contest launched online at www.togetherisamazing.com on November 29, inviting Canadians to create a virtual scrapbook page sharing their story of why they wanted to reunite their family. More than 5,000 Canadians created family scrapbooks and shared their incredible stories. Ten deserving families were chosen by a panel of judges and will have the opportunity to create their dream family reunion valued up to $25,000.

The Pidruchney family's story is one of tremendous love and support, and shows how together really is amazing. A family with five children, they grew up with a father who worked hard as a farmer not only to support their needs, but to also care for their mother who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the 1980s. Despite her condition, Mrs. Pidruchney continued to live her life to the fullest and supported all five kids in their endeavours – from soccer, to dance, to piano lessons. Today, she is in a wheelchair and Mr. Pidruchney continues to support his wife and take care of all of her needs. With the addition of four grandchildren to the family, their daughter Vanessa Boe entered Shaw's Amazing Family Reunion Contest with a goal of bringing together her entire family to celebrate their family and the challenges they have gone through.

As one of the 10 contest winners, the Pidruchney reunion will bring together family members for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
