Government of Canada Grants $89,940 in Funding for Startup of Trimoz (9214-2025 Quebec Inc.)

ALMA, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 22, 2011) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, and of the Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry, the Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Minister of State (Agriculture), today announced the awarding of $89,940 in federal funding for the startup of the information technology firm Trimoz (9214-2025 Québec Inc.).

Trimoz has created a Web 2.0-based electronic recruitment platform. Accessible to Quebec employers and job seekers, the site centres on a unique concept: registered members receive a cash reward when they propose a candidate who is ultimately selected for a position. The company is studying the possibility of exporting this platform to foreign markets, particularly in Europe.

"Trimoz clearly ranks as one of those enterprises that know how to use the results of their research and development to design value-added products," Minister Blackburn added.

The government funding awarded to Trimoz includes $65,000 from Canada Economic Development's Business and Regional Growth program, $32,500 of it in the form of a non-repayable contribution, and $24,940 in non-repayable funding from National Research Council Canada's Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP). The company's project will result in the creation of three new jobs this year and another 10 or so by the end of 2012.
