VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 24, 2011) - Eagle Star Minerals Corp. (TSX VENTURE:EGE)(PINK SHEETS:ELGSF)(FRANKFURT:E6R) ("Eagle star" or "the Company") - Further to its news release dated January 18, 2011 Eagle Star is pleased to announce that excellent results were obtained from further trenching along strike on the Cavaleiro Block - Angico Iron Project, North Eastern Brazil. Trench 3 is located approximately 900 metres to the north of Trench 2 and one kilometer north of Trench 1 along the Banded Iron Formation trend.

Systematic chip and channel sampling from Trench 3 returned 41.62% Fe2O3 across 27.5 metres. As announced previously samples from Trench 1 returned 44.66% Fe2O3 across 39 metres and Trench 2 returned 48.72% Fe2O3 across 22 metres.

Detailed individual assays from Trench 3 are as follows:

Sample length(m) Width (m) Fe2O3% P2O5% S% SiO2% Fe2O3%

The iron mineralization trend sampled by the three trenches over a distance of 1 kilometer confirmed the potential of the 8 kilometre trend of Banded Iron Formation. Further trenching along strike is proceeding. Results will be released on receipt. The true thickness of the iron formation is not known as the trenches did not completely cross the entire formation. More trenching, large core diamond drilling and/or reverse circulation drilling is required to evaluate this mineralized trend.

"These results further confirm the large potential of the iron mineralization in the Cavaleiro block. We are eagerly looking forward to receive some more results from additional trenches on the block and subsequently, initiate large core diamond drilling and/or reverse circulation drilling to substantiate these results," commented Eran Friedlander, President and CEO of Eagle Star Minerals.
