Burghound in Asia: Unrivalled Passion for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

HONG KONG--(Marketwire - February 28, 2011) - Hermitage Wines together with The Wandering Palate are organizing BURGHOUND IN ASIA: Unrivalled Passion for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, a spectacular event that brings together the worlds of fine wine. This is the most significant and strategic wine event in Asia for 2011. Whilst applauding Allen Meadow's dedication to burgundy, and his newly minted book, "The Pearl of the Côte," it is essentially a celebration of chardonnay and pinot noir from all over the globe and an opportunity to showcase wines in the most exciting and fast-developing wine market in the world. The event will be held at the St. Regis Singapore Hotel from the 8-10 April 2011.

Asia's fine-wine trade has boomed vibrantly in the last few years. Noted by prolific wine critics globally, more and more wine lovers in Asia are realising that tough, tannic red Bordeaux may not be the ideal wine for its sultry climate. However, red burgundies and Pinot Noir in general, are increasingly appreciated. Singapore's strategic location, being in close proximity to the ASEAN countries, servicing South Asia as well as Australasian region, and cohesively interlinked with Hong Kong and Mainland China, makes it the most centrally located wine hub in Southeast.

In conjunction with this event, Allen Meadow's newly released book, "The Pearl of the Côte" will be celebrated. Released in July 2010, Allen Meadow's first published book is a 350-page expedition through Vosne-Romanée. Meadow will guide the reader through each of the grands and premier crus, with a rich and fascinating historical coverage and detail, even Burgundy novices will reap pivotal knowledge. This beautifully crafted masterpiece includes original and detailed maps of the vineyards as well as vividly artistic photographs that make one feel as if he or she is walking through the vineyards alongside the author.

A series of wine and master classes will be held over a 3-day:

Friday 8th April, 2011 --
