Clancy's Meat Co. Announces That 25+ Year Veteran of M & M Meat Shops, Brian Davy Has Joined Clancy's as VP of Franchise Development; Multiple Ontario Store Openings to Follow

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 1, 2011) - Clancy's Meat Co. announced today that Brian Davy, one of the original M & M Meat Shops franchisees, has joined the Clancy's executive team as VP of Franchise Development and will lead both franchise recruitment and site selection of all new stores in Ontario. The first of which is slated for mid-2011.

Brian Davy has worked in the frozen specialty food sector since 1982, when he became the first M & M Meat Shops franchise partner outside the Voisin family to open a store. Davy worked alongside M & M Meat Shops founder, Mac Voisin for over two decades, as President of the Marketing Council, Chairman of the Advisory Council and as a member of the Merchandising Committee. In addition, Davy was a multi-franchise M & M Meat Shops owner (8 locations), operating some of the most profitable stores in the system, all located in southern Ontario.

For Clancy's Meat Co., signing Brian Davy onto the team comes as a major coup for the company, as it eyes expansion into the Ontario market. According to Clancy's Meat Co. CEO, Paul Monger, "We are very excited to have Brian (Davy) on the team. His experience, leadership and credibility will assist all facets of growth in Ontario. Brian knows the Ontario market inside out and is THE ideal candidate to identify new locations, approve potential franchisees and mentor new franchisees. He is representative of the caliber of franchisee that we want to attract to our growing chain."

Davy, a longtime resident of southern Ontario, retired from M & M Meat Shops in 2008, but after reading an article in the National Post about Clancy's Meat Co. in November 2010, was so excited about Clancy's and its CEO, Paul Monger that he decided to emerge from his early retirement in Florida and get back into the specialty frozen food game. To Davy, "In the early days of M & M Meat Shops I used to get up at 4am and I haven't done it in years; now I'm doing it again!"

For Clancy's Meat Co. the flagship London store will be the first of several Clancy's franchises opening up across Ontario this year. Clancy's Meat Co. has long had its sights set on penetrating Ontario's large, dynamic market and according to CEO Paul Monger, Brian Davy is exactly the kind of franchise partner they are looking for to lead the charge in Ontario.

According to Monger, "Ontario is such a huge market for us for a few reasons. Ontarians are savvy consumers who have been demanding an alternative to the frozen only offerings of M&M Meat Shops for years. Brian (Davy) is acutely aware of what the Ontario market is demanding and our stores will showcase what we do - supply consumers with the quality fresh and frozen products they want, and provide the kind of personalized service they just can't get anywhere else."

Monger and Davy believe that Clancy's Meat Co. will become the next BIG Canadian Franchise.
