B-Temia Receives $100,000 in Funding From Government of Canada for Startup Activities

Developer of dermoskeleton mechanism

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 9, 2011) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, the Honourable Josée Verner, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, President of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada, Minister for La Francophonie and Minister responsible for the Québec region, today announced the awarding of $100,000 in repayable funding to B-Temia Inc. Granted through the Business and Regional Growth program, this financial assistance will serve to support the startup of the firm, which specializes in the development of human mobility enhancement systems.

"The Government of Canada is proud to support B-Temia, a growing Québec company whose unique, home-grown know-how is already reaching well beyond our borders," stated Minister Verner.

A highly-innovative enterprise operating in the applied technologies sector, a priority for the greater Québec region, B-Temia designs, develops and sells a unique dermoskeleton mechanism for soldiers required to carry heavy loads. As well as facilitating mobility, this mechanism reduces the risk of injury. Already present in the defence and security sector, the firm is now looking to expand into the occupational health and safety and the clinical rehabilitation markets.

The financial assistance from Canada Economic Development will enable the company to, among other things, hire a customer development officer, take part in trade fairs, develop a Web site and engage the services of consultants.
