Gold Coast Hotel's New Elandra Retreat Club Rooms Bring Luxury to New Levels

Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa Unveils 44 New Rooms & Suites, With More to Come

SURFERS PARADISE, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - March 14, 2011) - The first 44 rooms of the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa's $20 million refurbishment were completed last week and are already attracting record interest.

Located on the top four floors of the Gold Coast resort, the rooms and suites are part of the Elandra Retreat Club and the renovation has seen an upgrade to furnishings and fixtures as well as high speed internet connectivity.

The Gold Coast hotel's new rooms boast neutral colours with accents of coral, crisp whites and creams while the furniture reflects a modern Queensland charm.

Marriott's director of sales and marketing Ken Duddy says the Elandra Retreat Club rooms offer a superior level of luxury and dedicated service for high-end travellers staying at the Gold Coast accommodation.

"The first of the Elandra rooms and suites are complete and are already attracting a remarkable amount of interest," he said.

"They boast a contemporary and classic look and take advantage of the world-class views of the coastline and hinterland. The Elandra floors are designed for the fastidious traveller and feature access to a contemporary lounge that offers a light Retreat Club breakfast, light refreshments during the day, afternoon tea, hors d'oeuvres in the evening and desserts, as well as a selection of fine wine and local beers.

"Attention to detail has been a key factor in the refurb and we are thrilled with the result of the first rooms -- they are the epitome of true five-star style, in a world-class resort."

The Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa is Marriott's flagship resort property in Australia and the $20 million refurbishment will see an upgrade to all guest rooms, function areas, lobby and the Lagoon Restaurant, a standout among Surfers Paradise restaurants.

The resort's Presidential Suite was completed late last year and features stylish and luxurious furnishings, specifically selected for the suite. The one-bedroom king suite is located on level 28 and has set a new benchmark in luxury accommodation in Gold Coast

The elegant 329 room, 28 level resort is set to exceed all guest expectations and take the five-star hotel scene to a level never before seen on the Gold Coast.

The unsurpassed resort is located just a few minutes from the vibrant heart of Surfers Paradise and rooms offer breathtaking views of the Gold Coast Hinterland, Surfers Paradise skyline or Pacific Ocean.

The refurbishment is expected to be completed by September 2011 and the hotel and all of its facilities will remain fully operational throughout.

A selection of accommodation packages at Elandra Retreat Club are now on offer.
