Mouflons des Montagnes Snowmobile Club Receives $94,174 in funding From Government of Canada

LAMBTON, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 15, 2011) - The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of Natural Resources, today announced that the Mouflons des Montagnes snowmobile club has been awarded $94,174 in non-repayable funding under the Community Diversification program to acquire a snow grooming machine.

"By supporting the project of the Mouflons des Montagnes club, an association of Estrie snowmobilers, the Government of Canada is contributing to the growth of snowmobiling while helping to enhance the region's tourism offering," noted Minister Paradis.

Mouflons des Montagnes oversees the maintenance of 145 kilometres of snowmobile trails. The purchase of a grooming machine is seen as essential to the organization's ability to guarantee users safe and accessible trails that meet snowmobile industry standards.

Tourism development is a priority for the Government of Canada, which set aside $40 million in its economic action plan to support the Canadian Tourism Commission in its efforts to successfully promote the country's industry on national and international markets.
