Experian Switches to WANdisco for "Serious Subversion Support"

Leading Global Information Services Provider Chooses WANdisco for Round-the-Clock Reliable Support and Quick Access to Apache Subversion Solutions

SAN RAMON, CA--(Marketwire - March 17, 2011) - WANdisco, a leading provider of Apache Subversion-based software and services for the enterprise, today announced that leading global information services provider Experian has become a WANdisco Subversion support customer. Experian made the switch after becoming frustrated with their previous support vendor's overall lack of responsiveness and inability to assist them with a recent Subversion upgrade.

"We get immediate answers from WANdisco -- all we have to do is pick up the phone," said Kent Chiu, QA and Release Manager for Experian. "With our last Subversion support provider it was difficult to reach a live person. Everything had to be done through their portal. Response times were slow and most of our tickets were never really resolved."

Since moving to WANdisco, Experian's support tickets have been responded to immediately. Experian has also been able to take advantage of live access to WANdisco's Subversion support professionals during normal business hours in North America, Europe and Asia. This wasn't possible with their previous vendor's support team, which was largely based in India.

As a heavy user of open source applications, Experian has also been impressed with WANdisco's ability to provide assistance with applications such as Trac, the widely used open source defect tracker that integrates natively with Subversion. When Experian asked their previous support vendor for help with Trac they were told that they only provided support for Subversion. This vendor then proceeded to try to sell them a proprietary defect tracker to use in its place.

WANdisco's expertise and adaptability in working with Subversion has clearly established the company as the best option for enterprise class support.

David Richards, CEO and President of WANdisco, said: "We are extremely pleased to have been able to provide Experian with genuinely reliable support for their wide-ranging and often complex Subversion requirements. While some other vendors struggle to deliver the serious professional Subversion support organizations demand, WANdisco has highly experienced, helpful staff based in the US and the UK to cover a multitude of time zones effectively and efficiently."

Invest in WANdisco's Subversion Support Services and Support Subversion Open Source

Profits from WANdisco's Subversion support contracts are used to hire additional Subversion committers and support the activities of the Subversion community. WANdisco's goal is to ensure that Subversion continues to provide the features that its users want and need and that the Subversion community has the resources to support these efforts.

WANdisco's Subversion support services are backed by a dedicated team of core Subversion development, QA and support professionals based at the company's offices in the US and the UK. As a result, all of WANdisco's Subversion support customers have access to secure, high quality live support and immediate fixes on a 24-by-7 basis regardless of where they're located. This is critical when problems arise and it's the reason so many organizations that want the same level of support available with commercial enterprise software switch to WANdisco. The team is led by Hyrum Wright, WANdisco's Director of Open Source. Hyrum has also been the release manager for the Subversion project since early 2008.

Support contracts include:

  • 24-by-7 online, phone and email Support.

  • Guaranteed response times.

  • Global coverage from the United States and Europe.

  • Automated delivery of fixes and upgrades.

  • Technical Account Managers who act as a single point of contact for critical issues.
