Double Diaphragm Pump From EDSON Features Programmable Variable Speed Drive

NEW BEDFORD, MA--(Marketwire - March 23, 2011) - EDSON International is introducing a new portable, variable speed electric double diaphragm pump that is rated for 25 GPM service and is ideal for a wide variety of industrial and process applications.

The EDSON Model 2500 electric powered double diaphragm plastic pump is rated for 25 GPM service and can transfer liquids with solids up to 1" dia. with low emulsion and no shear. Fully self-contained and equipped with a push-button start-stop and a programmable variable speed drive, this self-priming pump eliminates air consumption and air valve maintenance issues.

Incorporating one piston that drives both diaphragm pumps, which are each equipped with their own check valves, the EDSON Model 2500 electric powered double diaphragm plastic pump runs on single- and 3-phase and can be operated remotely or fully integrated into a process system for operation on a time-run basis. It has a PVC body, polypropylene wetted parts, and the two diaphragms can be easily reconfigured to operate independently.

The EDSON Model 2500 electric powered double diaphragm plastic pump sells for $3,195.00 (list). Distributor inquiries are invited.

About EDSON International

Founded in 1859 in Boston, MA by inventor Jacob Edson, the company originally began manufacturing diaphragm pumps and specialty hardware for the commercial marine trade. The company's diaphragm pumps were first used in sewage pumping applications, resulting in the original horse-drawn "honey wagon." By the 1900s, Edson was manufacturing steering systems for sailing vessels, resulting in early relationships with the America's Cup race boats. World Wars I and II saw Edson's steering gear and bilge pumps used on freighters, liberty ships, and PT boats.

In 1956, Edson was purchased by the Keene family, who continue to own the firm today. Utilizing their time-tested diaphragm pump designs, Edson engineered holding tank pump out systems for marinas, yacht clubs and municipalities during the early 1980s and by doing so became a leader in helping to clean up and maintain the environment. Today, the Edson International Pump Division manufactures and supplies a full range of diaphragm pumps, pump out equipment, and vacuum pumping equipment. The firm has dealers throughout the world.
