New number of shares in Mekonomen AB (publ)

On 27 January 2011, Mekonomen issued a press release stating that the
company had reached an agreement with Otto Olsen Invest A/S to acquire
all the shares in Sørensen og Balchen AS. It was announced that
Mekonomen would issue approximately 1.9 million shares as part of the
acquisition process. The acquisition was concluded on 11 March 2011
following approval by the Norwegian Competition Authority and a
resolution passed at Mekonomen's General Meeting.

On completion of the issue of 1,945,783 new shares, there are now a
total of 32,814,605 shares in Mekonomen. All shares are of the same
class.

The information in this press release constitutes the disclosure of an
increase in the number of shares in accordance with the first paragraph
of chapter 4 section 9 (1991:980) of the Swedish Financial Instruments
Trading Act.
