CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - April 4, 2011) -  Dresner Corporate Services, Inc. (DCS), a strategic communications counseling firm specializing in investor relations and public relations, and known for its strength in representing small-cap and mid-cap companies, has acquired The Investor Relations Company (IRC), one of the nation's most prestigious firms devoted exclusively to investor relations. Terms were not disclosed.

Sherwood Lee (Woody) Wallace, president and CEO of IRC, will continue as a senior consultant to Dresner Corporate Services in specialty areas including publicly held microcap companies, community banks and alternative investments. Formerly a senior partner at the Financial Relations Board, he founded IRC in 1982. With more than 43 years in investor relations, he is one of the pioneers of the industry, and is noted for providing distinctive service to an array of outstanding domestic and international companies. He is the co-author of New Dimensions in Investor Relations, John Wiley & Sons, as part of its Frontiers in Finance series.

"Sherwood Wallace is one of the earliest practitioners of investor relations who built The Investor Relations Company into a pre-eminent IR brand," said Steve Carr, managing director, Dresner Corporate Services. "Our two businesses are a close fit strategically and culturally. The Dresner team looks forward to working with such a strong corporate counselor."

"There are three important reasons we chose to combine with DCS," Mr. Wallace said. "First, Steve Carr is a recognized, well respected, top professional IR practitioner; second, the corporate cultures fit -- from ethics to client strategies to tactical activities; and, third, we see a key advantage in being aligned with a successful investment bank. I look forward to being a part of this talented team."
