AtHoc IWSAlerts Net-Centric Mass Notification Wins Security Products' 2011 Govies Award

AtHoc's Innovative Cloud-Based Unified Emergency Mass Notification Software Recognized for Leadership in Homeland Security Category

SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - April 6, 2011) - AtHoc, Inc., the pioneer and leader in network-centric emergency mass notification systems (EMNS), today announced that AtHoc IWSAlerts™ emergency mass notification solution won Security Products' Govies 2011 Award in the Homeland Security category.

The Govies Award recognizes outstanding government technologies. The judges narrowed down the 2011 submissions to those achieving top status. AtHoc has demonstrated leadership in the areas of innovation and customer adoption with the successful deployment of AtHoc IWSAlerts network-centric mass notification technology to protect property and more than 2 million military and federal government personnel (approximately 40 percent of the U.S. federal government).

Most recently, AtHoc mass notification software was utilized in real-world emergencies, including the tragic shooting at Fort Bliss and in response to the Gulf oil spill. Every day, both here and abroad, AtHoc is used by hundreds of organizations (government, healthcare, commercial, higher education), including in the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security, for physical security, force protection, personnel accountability and personnel recall.

"AtHoc's EMNS unified alerting approach, its cloud-based architecture, security, scalability and ease of use are paramount to helping organizations protect people," said David Box, head of marketing for AtHoc. "This Govies Award win attests to the strength of AtHoc throughout the military, first responder, public and government communities to rapidly notify thousands of people in geographically dispersed areas via multiple redundant channels."

The Security Products' Government Security Awards were launched in 2009 and re-launched as the Govies in 2011.
