(TSX:BEV) (the "Company" or "BEI") today noted that in its press release of April 5, 2011 Second City Capital Partners I, Limited Partnership ("Second City") made irresponsible allegations regarding a recently implemented arrangement to assist in the exercise of stock options. The company notes that the arrangement was announced in a Company press release dated March 28, 2011 and more fully described in the Management Discussion & Analysis ("MD&A") issued the same date. Both the press release and the MD&A had been approved by all BEI directors, including Second City's nominees to the Board of Directors.

Prior to the implementation the arrangement was reviewed by the Company's counsel, counsel to the investment dealer and had been reviewed by the TSX. To date approximately 795,000 shares have been bought and sold through the arrangement without recourse or gain to the Company. The Company's only cost to date has been a flat fee paid to administer the arrangement.
