TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 7, 2011) - African Gold Group, Inc., ("AGG" or the "Company") AGG is pleased to report the analytical results for 27 near surface (oxide), reverse circulation (RC), step out drill holes. All 27 step out RC drill holes being reported in this release were drilled to the north of the Zone 1 deposit that contains a 43-101 resource of 740,000 ozs Au at an average grade of 1.25 g/t Au at a 0.3 g/t Au cutoff.
The 27 northern step out holes were grouped in four distinct regions, north of the Zone 1 deposit. The cluster of northern step out holes drilled closest to the Zone 1 deposit were collared approximately 400 meters north of the 43-101 resource. Moving north, the second cluster of northern step out holes measured approximately 1,100 meters north of the 43-101 resource. Continuing north, the third cluster of step out holes are located approximately 1,500 meters north of the 43-101 resource and the remaining cluster, representing the most northerly step-out holes measured approximately 2,000 meters north of the 43-101 resource. Please activate the link to view a plan map illustrating the northern step out drill collar locations and trace of the step out holes.

KBRC11-004 | No Significant Mineralization | 114 | 200 |
Notes: | |
1) | step out holes drilled at N200 degrees azimuth are perpendicular to East-West tension gashes |
2) | Significant drilled intercepts have a minimum length of 3m at 0.3 g/t or the product "Length X Grade" greater than 0.9 g.m/t |
3) | Up to 5m of horizontal "waste" included within mineralized intercept |
"We are most pleased and encouraged by the results of this very significant step out program along trend to the north of our Zone 1, 43-101 resource. The four areas that we tested measured up to 2,000 meters north of Zone 1 and targeted ancient local gold diggings where artisanal miners have excavated caverns up to 100 meters long by 30 meters wide, just below the duricrust hardpan of the laterite profile. These targets occur within the 4.3 km strike length between the Zone 1 deposit and the Foroko North structure that AGG announced as a new gold discovery zone on October 14, 2010: http://www.africangoldgroup.ca/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=167:african-gold-group-inc-step-out-drilling-yields-discovery-of-new-gold-zone-located-43-km-north-o&catid=47:2010&Itemid=162.
The holes located in the 1100S area, represent a step out of 400 meters north of the Zone 1, 43-101 resource. These holes clearly indicate the occurrence of economic grade of near surface oxide mineralization that occurs over widths of at least 80 meters and corresponding vertical depths of up to 100 meters. Future drilling in this region will be focused on linking this mineralization to the 43-101 resource and continue to test its northern extension.
The three more northerly clusters or groupings of step out drilling generated very encouraging mineralized intercepts, especially in the 400N area, almost 2,000 meters north along trend from our Zone 1 deposit where hole KBRC11-003 contained 39 meters of greater than 0.5 g/t Au mineralization. Each of these three northern anomalies is now scheduled for additional drilling in 2011.
We are presently drilling as far as 1,300 meters south of the 43-101 resource and remain optimistic that the combination of our northern and southern step out holes will ultimately result in the significant expansion and growth of our Kobada gold project," states Dr. Kevin Downing, V. P. Exploration.

Sampling - QA/QC Program
RC cuttings are recovered at the bottom outlet of the RC rig cyclone into 50-kg capacity poly-weave bags to recover the cuttings from each 1 meter of drill penetration. Each one meter sample weighs an average of approximately 19 to 23 kg. Each sample is passed through a 3-tier Jones Riffler (1 to 8 split), the samples are riffled twice to obtain from 3 to 5 kg of cuttings which are put in a numbered sample bag. Each bag is sealed and picked up on site by ALS Chemex Laboratories for delivery to its Burkina Faso facilities. The remaining 14 to 18 kg of cuttings (field rejects) are stored in camp under tarps to protect the bags against the elements.
Original samples are analyzed using Leachwell on 2 kg of pulp. Leachwell is a bottle roll cyanidation procedure with the addition of a catalyst to speed up gold dissolution. A QA/QC program is in place and includes: blank (1 in 20 samples), duplicates (1 in 20), standards (1 in 20), external lab checks (1 in 30) and two different analytical procedures checks (1 in 100).
African Gold Group, Inc., based in Toronto, Canada, is engaged in the identification, acquisition and exploration of prospective gold projects that are situated along significant gold trends within West Africa. To date, the Company controls a total of eleven gold concessions that are consolidated in four distinct stand alone exploration projects. Three of these projects are located in Ghana and one project (Kobada) is located in Mali, West Africa.
