Evergreen Wings & Waves Waterpark Has Filled Its Pools

Waterpark Two Months Away From Opening; Video of Construction Progress Available

MCMINNVILLE, OR--(Marketwire - Apr 8, 2011) - Evergreen Wings & Waves Waterpark, the nation's only educational and aviation themed waterpark, has filled its 91,703 gallon wave pool with water in anticipation of the park's grand opening in early June.

"We're just two months away from the park's grand opening and this is an exciting next step in ensuring the wave pool and slides are ready for guests this summer," said Dave Garske, Hoffman Construction operations manager. "We're very excited to see the park come to life with water."

At Evergreen Wings & Waves Waterpark children and adults will learn why "life needs water" through experience, inspiration and education. The waterpark, scheduled to open on Monday, June 6, is next to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, one of the greatest collections of aircraft and space artifacts in the world. Both the waterpark and the museum distinguish McMinnville as a premier location for learning about the power of science.

The waterpark has a total of 10 waterslides, a wave pool and a children's museum dedicated to teaching students about the power of water. The facility features more than 70,000-square-feet of educational fun, highlighted by a massive Evergreen International Aviation Boeing 747 aircraft that rests on the top of the building. There is a café, play structure, toddler play area, leisure pool and spa, and rooms that can be rented for birthday parties. Throughout the structure, waterpark visitors will learn about the power of water and its effects on society through dozens of interactive exhibits and learning tools.
