A special “International Business” issue of Blue Wings, Finnair’s cabin magazine, has been published for the iPad. Finland’s most international magazine is also now available outside Finnair flights and can be downloaded for free from Apple’s App Store.
“The Finnair Magazines application has been downloaded so often that it tops the list of the App Store’s free program downloads,” says Finnair’s Vice President Global Marketing Jarkko Konttinen.
The Blue Wings special iPad issue, which is completely in English, will be published four times a year and it will include both previously unpublished material and the best items from late 2010 and 2011.
“Finnair is a pioneer in many fields. Blue Wings has been continuously developed over the years, and it has always been rated very highly by customers. In the world of the Finnish media, the magazine is exceptional, because it reaches the decision-makers of the Northern hemisphere,” adds Konttinen.
Every Blue Wings iPad issue will have its own theme. The theme of the first issue, published on 4th April, is “International business”. The selection of articles takes the reader from Singapore to New York and from Hong Kong to Valencia. In addition, this issue presents the world’s leading eco-hotels and introduces readers to business internationalisation and the new interior decoration innovations of Finnish architect Vertti Kivi.
The theme of the second iPad special issue, to be published in early summer, is “Summer Adventures”. Blue Wings is produced in cooperation with Sanoma Magazines’ Business Publications.
