LGL Introduces the XO5153 Series DOCXO and New Features in Its Precision TCXO Product Lines

ORLANDO, Fla., April 12, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The LGL Group, Inc. (NYSE Amex:LGL) (the "Company") today announced that MtronPTI, its wholly-owned subsidiary, has expanded two of its existing product lines that will provide advanced precision timing solutions aimed at the telecommunications and global positioning system ("GPS") markets.

The new offerings include XO5153 Series DOCXO, a double-oven oscillator that provides precise timing and low phase noise, and new 4 and 5-pad package options for its precision M610x and M611x TCXO series, which simplify board layouts and meet updated industry standards.

"These new product offerings will allow us to continue providing state of the art timing and frequency solutions to customers in these key markets," according to Greg Anderson, LGL Group's President and Chief Executive Officer.

The XO5153 Series DOCXO is designed for applications that require precision timing and low phase noise performance required in cellular base stations, test equipment, stratum clocks, GPS timing systems and rubidium replacement. Features include high stability performance (± 0.25 ppb) over a wide range of temperatures (-40°C to +75°C) and under aging duress, as well as high-quality warm up and phase noise performance in a 1.4 x 1-inch package with typical frequency of 10 MHz.

The new 4 and 5-pad package options for the M610x and M611x TCXO series products expands its capabilities by providing simplified board layouts and meeting updated industry standards. The 5-pad package also provides efficiency measures for testing multiple boards. Both have low phase noise and excellent G-sensitivity performance at 1.5 ppb/G, and feature a small format 5x7 mm SMT package with a frequency range of 8 to 52 MHz.

Dick Thompson, MtronPTI's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said "the new XO5153 Series double-oven OCXO and the increased functionality for our TCXO product lines enhances MtronPTI's growing product portfolio and meets the customer requirements for both precision and stability. With these product launches, we continue to expand our ability to provide solutions for our customers with an unparalleled level of performance."

MtronPTI's customers include Cisco, Raytheon, Ericsson, Honeywell, GE, Agilent Technologies, Northrop Grumman, Rockwell Collins and Harris RF, among others.

Second Product Announcement This Year

The Company also announced on February 12, 2011, the introduction of a new series of HCMOS compatible oven-controlled clock oscillators, which are designed specifically for IEEE 1588 synchronized Ethernet applications. Both the X5X84-1588 Series for IEEE 1588 applications and the XO5153 Series double-oven OCXO product launches are the result of the Company's continuing efforts to further expand its broad product offering and position MtronPTI for the growing demand arising from the build-out of next generation networks.

Mr. Anderson said, "The Company seeks to leverage its operating platform and the strength of our recent successes to continuing building shareholder value. The continuous process of developing new products and capabilities are investments that will reap current and future benefits as we seek to provide extremely precise frequency control solutions for both new and existing customers."
