Inphi Wins Design News Golden Mousetrap Award

Inphi's 100G Dual-Channel Coherent Transimpedance Amplifier Selected as Best Product

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - May 3, 2011) - Inphi Corporation (NYSE: IPHI), a leading provider of high-speed analog semiconductor solutions for the communications and computing markets, today announced that its 2850TA 100G dual-channel coherent transimpedance amplifier (TIA) received a Design News Golden Mousetrap Award for Best Product. In addition, Inphi's JEDEC-Compliant Isolation Memory Buffer (iMB™) was named as a finalist in the Electronics and Test category.

"Design News congratulates all the engineers and their companies who have been recognized with the Golden Mousetrap Award, and we are grateful for their contribution to this year's competition," said David Greenfield, Editorial Director of Design News. "The products highlighted in this year's Golden Mousetrap winners and finalists clearly demonstrate both cutting-edge design ideas and the practical evolution of technologies for systems and product design engineers."

"We are honored that Design News has recognized the 2850TA as a key enabling technology for 100G coherent networks," said Loi Nguyen, Vice President of Networking, Communications and Multi-Market Products at Inphi. "The pervasive use of the Internet, and subsequent evolution of cloud computing, has led carriers and data centers to scale their core networks from 10G/40G to 100G. Designed to address increasing bandwidth demands, Inphi's 2850TA delivers the next generation coherent technology that carriers and data centers require to rollout their 100G networking infrastructure."

The Inphi 2850TA is the industry's first 100G coherent TIA that has enabled Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF)-based 100G integrated coherent receivers. Inphi's 2850TA offers exceptional performance, superior linearity, low power consumption, and high signal integrity to help ensure error-free data transport.

For more than two decades, the Design News Awards Program has recognized engineering innovation and creativity in product design. This year, Golden Mousetrap Awards were given in four major categories: Electronics & Test, Automation & Control, Design Tools: Hardware & Software, and Materials & Assembly. Based on their expertise in each technology area, 18 winners and 95 finalists were selected. For more information about the Design News Golden Mousetrap Awards, visit www.designnews.com.
