Pursuant to Section 29 of the Danish Securities Trading Act, Topdanmark A/S hereby announces it has received information, see appendix 1, from If (Sampo) that it now holds 3,147,692 shares in Topdanmark equivalent to 20.09% of the share capital and voting rights.
In Topdanmark's 2010 Annual Report it was announced that If's shareholding in Topdanmark was 11.7% at the end of 2010.
Over many recent years Topdanmark has created significant shareholder value and its management believes that it will be able to continue this value creation in future. Therefore Topdanmark's strategy is to continue to be an independent and separate insurance group operating in the Danish market.
Topdanmark does not know the purpose of If's large acquisition.
