Brandt spent nearly 20 years with Lockheed Martin in a variety of leadership roles, including president of one of the company's subsidiary units, and program manager on such high profile programs as the F-22 Raptor and C-130J Hercules. He also was responsible for $150 million in annual revenues as general manager for a group of Lockheed companies providing service support to the aeronautics business sector. In 2006, Brandt accepted a position as President & CEO of Terma North America, a newly created offshoot of the Denmark-based aerospace and defense supplier, Terma Corporation. While there, he was responsible for establishing the company's infrastructure and expanding Terma's U.S. market presence. His efforts contributed to an increase in orders and revenue by over 30% year over year for four years running. His expertise also extends to process control and Lean philosophies, defense procurement, contracting and security requirements, and product design and development.

Brandt began his career in the U.S. Navy as an avionics and electronics technician deployed on the aircraft carriers USS Kittyhawk and USS Eisenhower. He has an MBA in finance from National University in southern California and completed three levels of the Lockheed Martin Executive Assessment and Development Program. In addition, he is a member of the U.S. Air Force Logistics Officers Association, an alumnus of Defense Acquisition University, and is certified in Six Sigma / Lean processes and techniques.
Brandt takes over for long-time Esterline employee Bob Harris who retired earlier this year after 15 years with the company. Esterline's Defense Technologies platform specializes in the manufacture of expendable countermeasure products and combustible ordnance for air and shipboard military applications.
