NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 25, 2011) - Maxim Group LLC, a leading full service investment banking, securities and wealth management firm, today announced the appointment of James Manfredonia as a Senior Vice President of the Institutional Equity Trading division.

Mr. Manfredonia will be responsible for expanding Maxim Group's sector-based trading platform. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial markets building sales teams and managing relationships across several product areas. He was most recently at First New York, where over the last two years he managed a propriety book concentrating on equity, fixed income and derivative products. Mr. Manfredonia began his 28 year career at Salomon Brothers in 1983, and eventually moved to Merrill Lynch Capital Markets where he spent 10 years as a Managing Director and Head of the Cash Desk. Mr. Manfredonia held a similar position at Bear Stearns for six years before joining First New York. Mr. Manfredonia received a B.S. in Finance and Economics from Fordham University.
