Hamilton Thorne Announces Annual Shareholder Meeting

The Company Also Launches First Interactive Annual Report and Provides First Quarter 2011 Reporting Date


BEVERLY, MA and TORONTO--(Marketwire - May 25, 2011) - Hamilton Thorne Ltd. (TSX-V: HTL), a leading provider of advanced laser systems for the regenerative medicine, fertility and stem cell research markets, today announced the Company will hold its Annual Meeting of Shareholders on Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 at 10:00 AM. The meeting will take place at 333 Bay Street, Suite 2900, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 2T4.

Hamilton Thorne has also launched its first Interactive Annual Report. The 2010 annual report can be found on the company's investor relations Webpage, and features a video welcome message from CEO Meg Spencer, a corporate video and a photo gallery tour of Hamilton Thorne's products, tradeshows, and employees. In addition, Hamilton Thorne has created "The Cell Colony," a corporate blog that provides insights from the company's management team on important topics that are impacting stem cell research and the regenerative medicine industry, as well as fertility markets.

The Company expects to report its first quarter financial results for the three month period ended March 31, 2011 on Thursday, June 9, 2011. These financial statements will be reported for the first time under International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS"), which replaces Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Policies ("GAAP") effective January 1, 2010 for all publically accountable enterprises in Canada. The Canadian Securities Administrators have granted an automatic 30-day extension to all issuers filing their first IFRS financial report.
