DOVER, NH--(Marketwire - May 26, 2011) - This week, NBC's TODAY took an eye-opening look at timeshare real estate in today's economy. The report, which aired Monday, May 23, included an interview with Jason Tremblay, CEO of Sell My Timeshare NOW and Timeshare Broker Services.

Refuting the misconception that timeshare owners have little opportunity to resell timeshare, Jason Tremblay explained that there is demand on the secondary or resale market for timeshares managed by branded hospitality providers, including Disney, Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt, among others.
The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) cites that there are over 170,000 timeshare units in the United States, with ownership shared by more than 7 million people. NBC reporter Mark Potter interviewed timeshare sellers and buyers on both sides of the market, addressing the fact that owners of certain timeshares, where demand is low, face challenges when it comes time to sell, but that the market is active. Tremblay, whose companies have seen over $160 million in offers to buy or rent timeshare to date this year, said, "Reselling timeshare often comes down to the owner's willingness to price the timeshare competitively and utilize a resales service that provides maximum exposure for the property."
Included in the NBC Today interview were David Henry and his wife, who are described as "thrilled" with their recent timeshare resale purchase. Regarding the two weeks of annual ownership in a Hilton Head timeshare that they bought for $1300, Henry said, "It was really a good deal and it fits into our budget. There are good deals out there if you are just patient."
