CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - May 30, 2011) -
Who:
Calgary Food Bank CEO James McAra
Chris MacFarlane, Adjunct Assistant Professor, University of Calgary
What:
The Calgary Food Bank recently completed a first-of-its-kind research project examining ten years of client and service data. The result is a comprehensive analysis of the people we serve and how we serve them. On Tuesday we will publically release our findings from the first two of six Briefs for the first time.
When:
Tuesday, May 31, 2011
10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
Where:
Calgary Food Bank Warehouse
5000 – 11 Street S.E. (Administrative entrance)
Why:
This research is the first of its kind in Canada. The findings will help the Food Bank better serve clients by tailoring services, identifying community partnerships that could benefit Food Bank clients, and ultimately reduce the number of Calgarians reliant on the Food Bank.
Six Briefs have been produced, each examining a different aspect of the data collected: Briefs #1 and #2 focus on the individuals and households who accessed food from the Food Bank during our 10 year research period.
The media is invited to participate in this press conference. Representatives from the Calgary Food Bank will be available for interview and photos.
