CTC Becomes First Japan-Based Distributor of Vyatta Solutions

Next Generation Virtual Routing and Security Solutions Now Available in Japan

BELMONT, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 1, 2011) - Vyatta, the leader in software-based networking for physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures, announced today that it has reached an agreement that will make ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC) the first distributor of the Vyatta Network OS in Japan.

Vyatta selected CTC based on its established partnerships with leading Japanese and international IT vendors. CTC will actively promote Vyatta products directly to data center businesses and service providers in the cloud and virtualization markets.

"The network virtualization changes the scale of Japanese data centers," said Toshiharu Chuman, general manager of CTC. "We are pleased to partner with Vyatta to address this important market opportunity together."

The Vyatta Network OS is the industry's most comprehensive virtualization-optimized and cloud-ready networking solution, boasting a feature list that includes complete routing, firewall, VPN, IPS, Secure Web Filtering and more. Treating layer 3 networking as a platform-independent application enables Vyatta to deliver a single enterprise-grade connectivity and security solution packaged as software, virtual machines and x86-based appliances addressing physical network edge, virtual datacenter and cloud computing needs.

"The agreement with CTC gives us the ability to work more closely with some of the top data centers and cloud providers in Japan to drive adoption of Vyatta's Network OS," said Tom McCafferty, vice president of marketing, Vyatta. "With rising global demand for cloud networking and network virtualization, Japan represents a significant market opportunity for the expansion of on-demand networking to help customers consolidate infrastructures and cut networking costs."

Vyatta is well established in North America, and boasts a range of government agencies, universities, service providers, cloud providers and Fortune 500 companies among its customers. In addition to expansion into the Japanese market, Vyatta has signed a European distribution agreement with Zycko to deliver Vyatta software and virtual machines.
