Markus Pinger to become new CEO of Celesio

*Beiersdorf manager appointed by Supervisory Board, effective 15 August
2011

*Many years of experience in the business of over-the-counter medical
products as well as in dealing with customers from retail, industry and
trade

Stuttgart, 23 June 2011. At today's meeting, the Supervisory Board of
Celesio AG has appointed Markus Pinger, until now member of the management
board at Beiersdorf AG, as new Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of
the company. Markus Pinger will assume his new responsibility as of 15
August 2011. The previous Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of
Celesio, Dr Fritz Oesterle, will leave the company with effect from 30 June
2011. Wolfgang Mähr, member of Celesio AG's Management Board, will act as
Interim Chairman of the Management Board during the transition period from
1 July 2011 to 15 August 2011.

During the past six years, Markus Pinger held several key roles in
Beiersdorf's management board. Most recently, he was responsible for the
'Brands & Supply Chain' business. As part of this capacity, he was
responsible for all product-related segments of brands such as Nivea,
Eucerin and Hansaplast - from research and development to production,
logistics, purchasing, quality management and marketing.

In his sixteen-year career at Beiersdorf AG, Markus Pinger managed to put
the North America business back on track for growth, established the
activities in Northern Europe and the Baltic states, formed a joint venture
for the advanced wound care business directed at doctors and hospitals, and
reorganised Beiersdorf's supply chain management.
