On 13 July 2011 Société Générale S.A., Paris, France, has informed us
pursuant to sec. 21 para. 1 Securities Trading Act (WpHG) of the following:

The percentage of the voting rights of Société Générale S.A. in RWE AG fell
below the threshold of 3 % on 11 July 2011 and amounts to 2.93% (15,337,041
voting rights) on that day. 0.19% of the voting rights (982,134 voting
rights) are directly attributable to Société Générale S.A.; 2.74% of the
voting rights (14,354,907 voting rights) are indirectly attributable to
Société Générale S.A. pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 6, sent. 2
WpHG.
