BAIE-DU-FEBVRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 18, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the regions of Quebec, today announced that Usine Rotec Inc. has received $500,000 in repayable funding to acquire specialized equipment and thus increase its productivity.

According to Usine Rotec Inc., its project has resulted in the creation of seven full-time jobs and the maintenance of some 60 others, and is expected to lead to three additional new jobs by the end of 2011. "Canada Economic Development is proud to support the growth of Usine Rotec Inc., a family business committed to participating in the regional economy," noted Minister Lebel.

Founded in 1985, Usine Rotec Inc. is the only manufacturing company in Canada that produces electrical adjustable beds for the residential and hospital sectors. Recognized for the quality of its products, the firm stands out among competitors for its technological advances. The increase in Usine Rotec Inc.'s production capacity through the acquisition of an automated Laser 3D machine will open new markets to the company, which already exports its products to the United States.

This financial assistance has been granted through the Community Adjustment Fund, established under Canada's Economic Action Plan.
