Kirkel, 20 July 2011. The Chairman of the Management Board of Praktiker AG,
Wolfgang Werner, has informed the Chairman of the Supervisory Board
(Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender) today that he resigns from office. The Chairman
of the Supervisory Board has asked Mr. Werner to continue to perform his
functions until the Supervisory Board has appointed a successor. This will
ensure that the Management Board is not without leadership at any time.
