Suennen will be honored for her work as a member of the board of directors of La Jolla-based PatientSafe Solutions, a Psilos-backed company. PatientSafe was named as one of the top 50 venture capital-backed companies this year by The Wall Street Journal, ranking No. 18. PatientSafe Solutions is driving transformation of health care delivery by offering highly-intuitive handheld technologies that allow mobile access to information and significantly advance hospitals' safety, quality, productivity, and care coordination initiatives. The company's PatientTouch™ System operates on the Apple iPod touch®. Suennen was honored in the category of "Companies in Transition," which is awarded to a director who has contributed to managing a company's transition through early startup growth, including mergers, acquisitions or other changes, to a positive conclusion.

"This award is well-deserved recognition for Lisa's contributions to the company we are today," said James Sweeney, chairman and CEO of PatientSafe Solutions. "I have founded nine healthcare products and services companies during my career, and Lisa has been one of the most valuable directors with whom I have ever worked," Sweeney added.

Ms. Suennen is a co-founder of Psilos and has headed their West coast office since its founding in 1998 and focuses on the medical device, healthcare information technology and healthcare services sectors.
