Suennen, a founder and managing director of healthcare investment firm Psilos Group, will be become one of five recipients of the Director of the Year Award 2011 given by Corporate Directors Forum, a non-profit organization that promotes high standards of professionalism in corporate governance. The awards will be presented on September 14 in San Diego, California.
Suennen will be honored for her work as a member of the board of directors of La Jolla-based PatientSafe Solutions, a Psilos-backed company. PatientSafe was named as one of the top 50 venture capital-backed companies this year by The Wall Street Journal, ranking No. 18.
