Copenhagen Business School Launches Kaltura's Cross Campus Media Suite

Following on Its Success With Hundreds of Universities Across North America, Kaltura Expands Globally to Offer Its Advanced Online-Video Tools to Schools in Europe and Other Regions

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jul 26, 2011) - Kaltura, (www.kaltura.com), developer of the first open source video platform, today announced that the Copenhagen Business School, one of Europe's leading educational institutions, has deployed Kaltura's Cross Campus Media Suite. Among the solutions deployed are the Kaltura Management Console for video management and publishing, Kaltura MediaSpace™ -- an out-of-the-box video portal with built-in interactive UGC features, and soon Kaltura's video extension for the Moodle Learning Management System. The school's MediaSpace instance is called Cast@CBS and can be seen at http://cast.cbs.dk.

"Our wide array of online-video use cases, both inside and outside of the classrooms, are best addressed by Kaltura's flexible platform and broad solution suite," said Tonny Hjelmberg Laursen from the Project Management Office at the Copenhagen Business School. "Kaltura allows us to quickly and cost-effectively integrate rich-media into our CMS systems, create our own custom metadata fields, manage our content and easily publish it on any site. We are also using the Kaltura MediaSpace application as our own 'private YouTube' where faculty can upload videos, view content, and get involved."

Kaltura's Cross Campus Media Suite combines the company's core open source video platform with a set of EDU-specific applications and tools to power every rich media need on campus. The Kaltura Management Console allows for full management, publishing and syndication of rich media collections. Kaltura MediaSpace serves as a fully customizable media portal for any campus. Kaltura integrates into all leading Learning Management Systems, with pre-integrated extensions for Blackboard, Moodle, Sakai, Desire2Learn, and SharePoint. Teachers and students can record from a webcam, ingest media, submit video assignments, or create personal media collections - all within the secure authorization framework of the underlying LMS. Kaltura can also be easily integrated into lecture capture systems. Additional Kaltura education tools include video-PowerPoint synchronization players, transcription and subtitling tools, 508 compliant players, and more.

"Video and rich-media in education is simply booming. There's not a school today that isn't using video in some way, and the use cases just keep expanding," said Ron Yekutiel, Kaltura Chairman & CEO. "We are excited to expand our global reach especially in this vertical where we can also significantly affect global equality, discourse, and pluralism."
