CASMED Announces Addition of Two Key Sales Executives

New Leaders for Both U.S. and International Sales Hired


BRANFORD, Conn., July 28, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CAS Medical Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CASM) today announced that it has achieved another key objective in its on-going transition by filling two key sales management positions.   Frank P. Gregorio has been appointed the Director of North American Sales, and Ignacio J. Silva was named as the Director of International Business Development. Thomas M. Mr. Gregorio has over 22 years of sales and sales management experience in the medical device arena, including more than 14 years at Mindray Medical (formerly the Patient Monitoring Division of Datascope Corp.) including many years as Vice President, U.S. Sales Operations. Most recently, Mr. Gregorio was Clinical Sales Manager at Intuitive Surgical, Inc. Mr. Gregorio's experience includes development and management of both direct and distributor based sales channels. "Frank is an experienced executive who understands how to recruit, train, develop and support his sales team to achieve peak sales performance," said Matthew J. Herwig, CASMED's Vice President of Sales and Marketing.   Prior to Mindray, Mr. Gregorio held sales and management positions with Devon Industries, Inc. and Allergan, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from North Central College in Illinois.

As Director of International Business Development, Mr. Silva brings 20 years of global experience in medical device sales including deep experience in Europe, Africa and Asia. He is a keen global business manager and developer of new distribution channels. Most recently he was with Teleflex Medical OEM as Vice President of Global Sales, Marketing and Customer Care. "Ignacio's fluency in developing and growing markets outside the United States will be key to our continued penetration of FORE-SIGHT sales into new markets, and into new accounts within existing markets," Mr. Herwig added. Prior to Teleflex, Mr. Silva held senior international sales, marketing and business development positions at Smiths Medical PLC, Impra-C.R. Bard International and Vaso Products, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Villanova University and an MBA in International Finance and Asian Studies from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
