The ExecEvent Adds Cloud Gateway, Object Storage Panels to Agenda

Forums Feature Discussions on Various Technologies, Solutions Available in Rapidly Emerging Markets

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 11, 2011) - The ExecEvent, a unique technology networking and business development-only event, today announced the addition of a cloud gateway and object storage panel to its upcoming three-day Virtualization & Cloud event September 14-16 at the Network Meeting Center in Santa Clara, Calif. The panels add to a stellar lineup of networking opportunities, keynote addresses and presentations from prominent leaders and visionaries from the storage, networking, virtualization and cloud computing industries.

"Object Storage in the Cloud" features a discussion with some of the top object storage vendors who will describe their solutions and how they work within cloud storage. The panel includes executives from Caringo, Cleversafe, Rackspace and Scality and is moderated by Principal Analyst Andrew Reichman of Forrester Research. The one-hour panel starts at 9 a.m. on September 15.

"Cloud Gateways - The Onramp to the Cloud" will explore the various ways to use cloud gateways and introduce players in the market that enable easy access to cloud data. Moderated by Jim Damoulakis, CTO of GlassHouse, the panel featured executives from Citrix, Ctera, Panzura, Storsimple and TwinStrata. It takes place September 14 at 4 p.m.

"The chance to hear a company describe their approach to object storage and truly understand how that approach makes sense for cloud storage is what makes the ExecEvent such an ideal venue for attendees," said Reichman. "Rather than talking over one another to try to be heard, my panel will give time for all participants to discuss their technology in a meaningful way and allow the audience to ask appropriate questions, ensuring that this remains an educational opportunity rather than a paid commercial."

"The great thing about an industry conference like the ExecEvent is that it can focus on topics such as cloud gateways and present the technology and participants in an easily relatable way," said Damoulakis. "Too often, presentations come across as mere sales pitches for a particular company. I look forward to moderating a panel that focuses on how the cloud gateway technology can benefit everyone and let attendees make up their own minds as to the best way to make that connection to the cloud."

The ExecEvent is focused on the "hottest" new technologies with the highest visibility and potential for revenues, including cloud, virtualization, object-based storage and solid state. A new panel, specifically geared to disruptive technologies, is a "must attend" for attendees to hear about the ones most likely to make a difference in 2011 and beyond. In addition to the informative presentations, there is ample time to meet, share information and form relations with top-level executives over cocktails and dinners.
