NCSBN Elects New Members to Its Board of Directors During Its 2011 Delegate Assembly


CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Aug 12, 2011) - The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN®) www.ncsbn.org
elected new members to its Board of Directors during its 2011 Delegate Assembly. Those elected include:

Treasurer
Julia George, MSN, RN, FRE, executive director, North Carolina Board of Nursing, was appointed treasurer in February 2011.She served as the Area III director from 2007-2011 and is a Fellow of the NCSBN Institute of Regulatory Excellence. George served on the NCSBN Resolutions Committee from 2002-2003 and the NCSBN Practice, Regulation & Education Committee from 2003-2004.

Area Directors
Area I
Debra Scott, MSN, RN, FRE, executive director, Nevada State Board of Nursing, previously served as director-at-large from 2009-2011. She is a Fellow of the NCSBN Institute of Regulatory Excellence. Scott served as the chair of the NCSBN Continued Competency Committee in 2009 and was on the NCSBN Practice, Regulation, and Education Model Revision Subcommittee from 2003-2004.

Area II
Lanette Anderson, JD, MSN, RN, executive director, West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses, previously served on the NCSBN Transition to Practice Committee from 2009-2010 and the NCSBN Commitment to Ongoing Regulatory Excellence Advisory Panel from 2004-2006.

Area III
Pamela Autrey, PhD, MBA, MSN, RN, president, Alabama Board of Nursing, was appointed Area III director in February 2011 after having served as director-at-large from 2009-2011. She previously served on the NCSBN Continued Competency Committee and was a member of the NCSBN Disaster Preparedness Committee.

Area IV
Ann L. O'Sullivan, PhD, FAAN, CRNP, board member, Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, previously served on the NCSBN Advanced Practice (APRN) Committee from 2007-2011 and was chair of that committee from 2008-2011.

Directors-at-Large
Betsy Houchen, JD, MS, RN, executive director, Ohio Board of Nursing, has served two previous terms as the Area II director on the NCSBN Board of Directors and as the board liaison to the NCSBN CORE Committee.

Emmaline Woodson, DNP, MS, RN, FRE, deputy director, Maryland Board of Nursing, was appointed director-at-large in February 2011. She is a Fellow of the NCSBN Institute of Regulatory Excellence. Woodson previously served as a member of the NCSBN Advanced Practice (APRN) Committee from 2010-2011 and the NCSBN Leadership Succession Committee from 2008-2009.

NCSBN delegates also elected members of the Leadership Succession Committee (LSC):
Mark Majek, MA, PHR, board staff, Texas Board of Nursing; and
Suellyn Masek, MS, RN, CNOR, board member, Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose members include the boards of nursing in the 50 states, the District of Columbia and four U.S. territories -- American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and the Virgin Islands.
