Innovations Voltflex Inc. Receives $50,000 in Government of Canada Funding to Acquire Specialized Equipment

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 17, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announces the awarding of $50,000 in repayable funding to the firm Innovations Voltflex Inc. This financial assistance will enable the enterprise to acquire specialized equipment and integrate a new production monitoring process, resulting in an increase in productivity.

"The Government of Canada is pleased to lend its support to the project of Innovations Voltflex, a dynamic enterprise in transportation equipment, which is considered a promising growth sector for the Mauricie economy," said Minister Lebel.

Founded in 2003, Innovations Voltflex designs, manufactures and distributes electrical harnesses for the transportation equipment manufacturing sector. Its products are installed, among others, on excavation equipment, agricultural machinery, semi-trailers and RVs as well as food trucks and oil truck tanks. The specialized equipment the company will be acquiring thanks to the contribution from Canada Economic Development includes a low-pressure plastic injection machine, computer equipment and high precision molds. The company's executives are expecting this project to result in the creation of 19 jobs as well as the maintenance of the 16 existing ones.

The funding announced today has been awarded through the Business and Regional Growth program, which is designed to reinforce the conditions conducive to the sustainable growth of Quebec's regions and SMEs. It aims to help enterprises improve their performance, become more competitive and engage in more innovation. It also supports the transfer of technology and research outputs to enterprises as well as the development of new markets.
