The International Guild of Realism (IGOR) comes to Santa Fe, NM for its Sixth Annual Juried Exhibition and Sale on September 30 through October 22, 2011. The wide spectrum from contemporary to classical realism, created by artists from all over the world will offer the best in today's realism art. Opening night reception held on Friday, September 30 - from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

"It's always been a dream of ours to wow the art market with the power of Realism and the inventiveness of international art stars with such a landmark exhibition," Sande Sievert, director of the Sage Creek Gallery said. "It's taken us a long time to plan and assemble this stunning array of art, but I think the collectors will realize it was worth all of that effort."

IGOR Charter Member and Realism artist Don Clapper believes the Santa Fe location is perfect for the leading artists in the multi-faceted genre of realism.

"I am excited to bring the IGOR artist's work to Santa Fe, long considered an art destination for many styles of art," Clapper says. "We have more than 25 artists, coming in from around the world, attending the show allowing collectors not only to view incredible works of art, but spend quality time with the artists and learning how these masterpieces are created."

" IGOR member artists represent countries from the Netherlands and Norway to South Korea and Thailand. American artists hail from twenty different states across the country," Clapper shared.

Sage Gallery co-owner Gary Sievert talks about the juried process for IGOR's Sixth Annual Exhibition.

"The works the exhibition were juried into the show from over 400 artworks in the initial judging pool," Gary Sievert explains. "The gallery then selected 79 paintings in four categories for the display including landscapes, still life, figurative art and Trompe l'Oeil.  Prices range from five- hundred dollars to $23,000."

"Realism is having such a revival this decade because it combines superior artistic technique with the chance to flex one's creative talents. Unlike fads and trends, Realism holds it own in the art marketplace." Gary Sievert adds, "Collectors will be wowed with the realm of artwork in this exhibition."

About International Guild of Realism

The International Guild of Realism's mission is to advance realism in fine art through museum exhibitions, art gallery shows, workshops and education programs conducted by our Members, marketing support and Internet exposure. For us, "realism" ranges from classical realism (based upon the traditional, academic-style painting techniques) to contemporary realism (where cutting edge techniques and subject matter are used to comment on today's world). Trompe l'Oeil, photorealism, surrealism, and super-realism are some of the genres included within the range of realism choices for modern artists as well.

The International Guild of Realism's own website at www.RealismGuild.com features 265 worldwide artists. The International Guild of Realism was founded by a group of leading professional realism artists from around the globe in 2002 with four goals: Recognizing the best realists working today; Creating exhibition opportunities; Providing technical and promotional support; and To offer a bridge between art collectors and the highest quality realist art, created by our members
