OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 4, 2011) - Barb Byers, Canadian Labour Congress Executive Vice-President, will speak at a Labour Day picnic in Regina on Monday, September 5th. The event is co-sponsored by the Regina and District Labour Council and the Saskatchewan Provincial Building & Construction Trades Council. Byers will be available for comments to the media.
Canadian workers have celebrated their achievements each year on Labour Day since it was declared a national holiday in 1894. This year the focus is on demanding the changes – in salaries, working conditions and pensions – that are needed to improve the lives of our children and grandchildren.
