TIS eFLOW Platform to Process 180 Million Pages in Largest Project in Company's History

TEL AVIV, Israel, Sept. 12, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Top Image Systems™ (TIS™) Ltd. (Nasdaq:TISA), a leading ECM (Enterprise Content Management) solutions provider, announced today that its TIS' eFLOW™ platform will be used for the 2011 German Census to digitally capture and process approximately 180 million questionnaire pages by seven statistical offices. TIS' extensive international experience in census and survey document processing led to the Company's win.

Germany, like all other European Union member states, will be carrying out a population and housing census in 2011. The statistical offices of seven German federal states will use TIS' eFLOW Platform to capture, extract and post-process data from the survey in 13 of 16 German states.

In a pilot project, eFLOW's process automation skills and recognition rates concerning document scanning were successfully tested. The eFLOW Platform has already been installed at seven locations and is currently in use. It is estimated that approximately 180 million pages will be processed with TIS' eFLOW solution during the census. The official preliminary questionnaire phase for the building and housing census 2011, involving around seven million respondents in Germany, started in late 2010.

"We are very excited to provide a significant input for the 2011 German Census," stated Michael Schrader, Managing Director EMEA at TIS. "The feedback we have received has been very positive regarding the solutions we tailor-made for the census project. These include scanning integration as well as applications that are focused on data-processing security. Some of the statistical offices participating in the census have been clients of TIS for close to ten years. Being selected for such a large project shows not only the continued support we receive from long-term partners but further solidifies our status as the leading provider of data content management solutions for census work."

TIS has extensive experience in document processing for census projects as the company has successfully shown its data content management capabilities for several censuses in more than 17 countries over the last twelve years. These achievements include census projects in Turkey, Brazil, Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, Italy and Cyprus. TIS currently has the largest market share for capturing census data as well as other high-volume administrative document processing projects.
