Kratos Awarded $2.5 Million Literacy Information and Communication System (LINCS) Resource Collection Contract

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 14, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced that its training solutions division was named by The Department of Education as the recipient of a three-year, $2.5 million contract supporting the Literacy Information and Communication System (LINCS) Resource Collection program. LINCS is a leading disseminator of information, materials, and professional development in literacy for practitioners in adult education.

For this contract, Kratos will be tasked with the management, maintenance, and expansion of the LINCS Resource Collection program. The LINCS Resource Collection began as part of the National Literacy Act of 1991 to organize resources within the field of adult education to improve the flow of information and communication. LINCS has consolidated expertise, resources, and training to provide a central repository for these resources.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to contribute and manage such a prestigious knowledge source within the field of adult education," said Phil Carrai, President of Kratos Technology & Training Solutions. "The Kratos team is honored to be a part of this project and over the next 36 months will work to develop and enhance technologically advanced information and communication facilities to support the community of professionals, volunteers, and learners."
