Ashampoo Snap started its career as screenshot tool with editing functions and since then, has developed into an all-round multimedia tool. For many years now, this Windows software allows capturing, editing and sharing of any screen contents.
In version 5, Ashampoo Snap gets ready for social networks. Desktop photos and videos captured with the program can now be uploaded to Facebook or YouTube directly from within the software. This way, it is fairly easy to capture a section of a website and upload the commented image to Facebook. A quickly created desktop video showing a special Windows trick is uploaded to YouTube easily.
Another new feature of Ashampoo Snap 5 can access webcams. Using this function a quick personal video greeting with sound added via microphone is created effortlessly. The result is saved in a video file. If desired, the video file can be sent by email or be uploaded to YouTube.
Equally important are the new tools in the edit mode. The fifth version provides a flood fill tool that supports gradient fill and different fill styles. The note tool adds a note with a short text (up to few lines) to the screenshot. The text feature is geared towards short headlines and can be made even more attractive by using gradient color, different contours and a mirror effect, for example. The numbering function automatically numbers different areas of a screenshot. The new blur pen is the right to pixelize part of a picture in order to make it anonymous.
For taking new "snaps" Ashampoo offers more features and improvements. The function "Capture Fixed Region" now offers a selection of pre-defined screen sizes. Furthermore, it is possible to do a timed capture -- either just once or repeatedly. The new menu capture mode is also able to capture multi-level menus. If desired, users can add watermarks to their pictures and videos in order to instantly reveal the copyright owner.
