Staff members of the Fairfield Inn were among the many other community-minded volunteers on hand September 9-11, 2011 at Challenge Grove Park, the home of Jake's Place to construct the playground which allows children of all abilities the joy of playing and learning together. Distinctive among Exton, PA hotels, the Fairfield Inn and its associates proudly participated in the event and look forward to the Grand Opening of Jake's Place on Saturday, October 15, 2011. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. with dedication of the new park, the event will include a ribbon cutting, live music, face painting and refreshments.
While eagerly helping with the labor of Jake's Place, the Exton hotel's dedicated staff members were among hundreds of community and professional volunteers who joined forces to make Jake's Place a reality. Boundless Playgrounds also partnered with Build Jake's Place to facilitate playground design, technical details and assisted in securing grant funding for the project.
The Jake's Place program is dedicated to creating places where children, both abled and disabled, can play, laugh and learn together and the new playground at Challenge Grove Park is the first of its kind in South Jersey. The integrated play area allows children to play barrier free, is socially inviting and contains play environment groupings to meet the vision of Jake's Place, which is to create a network of playgrounds in memory of one little boy who touched the lives of many. It was his courage and love of life that inspired the idea of building a playground for children of all abilities to have fun, grow, learn and interact with one another.
