Data Center Alliance Event -- Winds of Change: Creative Concepts for Increasing Data Center Efficiency

Seminar Provides a Single Source of Information Addressing Today's Most Difficult Data Center Challenges

LINDEN, NJ--(Marketwire - Oct 11, 2011) - Further helping data center managers fill the information gap and eliminate information overload in today's data center, The Data Center Alliance (DCA) today announced Winds of Change: Creative Concepts for Increasing Data Center Efficiency, the latest in a series of seminars for data center managers. Being held October 25th at the Washington Dulles Airport Marriot, in Washington, DC, the event is aimed at helping data center managers better understand such issues as Data Operations Efficiency, Data Center Energy, Power Management, Data Center Infrastructure Management and Data Center Information Management.

Targeted at data center managers, the Winds of Change: Creative Concepts for Increasing Data Center Efficiency seminar will feature a range of senior executives from Eaton/Wright Line, FieldView Solutions, Minicom, Power Distribution, Inc. and Server Technology. The event will also include several keynotes including RJ Meyers, Energy Star: "Promoting Energy Efficiency in Data Centers," and Herb Villa, "Review of the new ASHRAE Thermal Guidelines and What They Mean To You."

Founded in November of 2009 by FieldView Solutions, Minicom Advanced Systems, PDI and Server Technology, the DCA has now expanded to 13 international companies and conducted two highly successful road shows in Santa Clara, California and Atlanta, Georgia. In addition, the DCA brings together the visions of best-in-class IT infrastructure manufacturers into one place, where IT decision makers find the data they need to make smart decisions about their growing data center needs. The organization is quickly becoming the go-to resource for helping end-users understand what customized data center solutions are right for their unique infrastructures -- overcoming such challenges as lack of physical space, power consumption, remote access, or budget.

A recent article in Computerworld reports that nearly half of all data centers are undergoing expansion within the next two years. Reporting on a recent survey by The Uptime Institute, the article also notes that up to 40 percent of data center managers report they will run out of power, cooling and space by 2012.

"Today's data center managers are being inundated with new information. At a certain point, this information becomes just noise," said David Zucker, Executive Director, The Data Center Alliance. "We formed The Data Center Alliance to help companies cut through the information clutter and get the data necessary to build and operate more efficient data centers. Our seminar series -- and our newest event specifically -- is key to making this happen."

In addition to networking events, the DCA provides companies with a range of seminars, Web training and newsletters. The full range of services helps companies quickly gain exposure to new markets, produce lead generation activities and gain broad-based training. The consortium also provides a range of information via Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
