MorrisAnderson Elects Deborah Hicks Midanek to Board of Directors


CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Oct 18, 2011) - MorrisAnderson, a leading financial and operational advisory firm, announced today that it has appointed Deborah Hicks Midanek, 56, to its board of directors, effective immediately. Midanek will be the only outside director and is the first woman elected to the board, which also includes:

  • Dan Dooley, chief executive officer
  • Howard Korenthal, chief operating officer
  • Larry Hennessy, principal
  • James Ross, principal
  • Ken Yager, principal

Midanek is president of Solon Group, a business development and turnaround management company, and co-manages Prevail Companies, an incubator dedicated to cultivating people, ideas, organizations and investment. She also serves as a trustee for the Committee for Economic Development, a non-profit, non-partisan business led public policy organization dedicated to policy research on major economic and social issues, and is an independent director of HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc, and Signature Group Holdings.

Previously, Midanek held several positions with Glass and Associates, Inc., a turnaround management firm, including president and chief operating officer. Prior to that, she held various executive positions with AlixPartners, Inc., Solon Asset Management L.P., Drexel Burnham Lambert, Inc. and Bankers Trust Company. She received her master's in business administration at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and holds a bachelor's degree in history from Bryn Mawr College.
