SHANGHAI, China, Nov. 3, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RDA Microelectronics (Nasdaq:RDA) ("RDA Microelectronics" or the "Company"), a fabless semiconductor company that designs, develops and markets Radio Frequency (RF) and mixed-signal chips for cellular, connectivity and broadcast applications, announced that it now has the largest market share for both Bluetooth and Front End Module/Power Amplifier products for the Chinese handset manufacturer market. According to iSuppli data for the third quarter of 2011, RDA's market share is 37% for Bluetooth products and 34% for Front End Module/Power Amplifiers, ranking RDA number one in market share for both of these two products. Based on iSuppli's data, RDA continues to be ranked number one in FM and DVB-S Tuner products.
"We are very pleased to become the market share leader for Bluetooth and Power Amplifier products in the Chinese branded and white label handset market, which is a testament to our world class technology leadership and innovation," said Vincent Tai, chairman and CEO of RDA Microelectronics. "Over the past year we have aggressively expanded our share in these markets, having previously held a 24% share in Bluetooth and a 20% share in Power Amplifiers as of the first half of 2010. Our advanced process technology migration to 55 nanometers for our Bluetooth products has been a key factor in our ability to gain market share. Additionally, our IPD Front End modules, which integrate the power amplifier and switch without using any passive components, continue to benefit from strong customer adoption as evidenced by this achievement. I believe we are well positioned to maintain our leadership position and continue to gain share across all of our products as a result of our technical expertise, superior integration, advanced cost-down efforts and aggressive product roadmap."
